How to Set Up URL Redirects

A redirect will allow you to redirect one domain to another domain.  For example you an create a redirect so www.website.net automatically redirects to www.website.com.  To do this follow these steps:

1)  Login to your cPanel Account, follow this article on how to do that click here

2)  Under the Domains section click on the 'Redirects' button

3)  Select from the Type field whether the redirect is permanent or temporary (temporary tells search engines that the redirect will not be permanent and to check the redirected URL as it will ultimately be redirected)

4)  Select from the http://(www.)? field the domain to redirect or all public domains on the cPanel account to redirect, in the field below you may fill in a directory name you want redirected

5)  Fill in the / field if you have a folder in the domain(s) listed above you are redirecting, if redirecting the whole site leave it blank

6)  Fill in the Redirects to field with the full domain to redirect to

7)  Choose in the www.redirection: field the redirection options you want

8)  Check off the Wild Card Redirect box if you wish to redirect all subdomains

9)  Click on the 'Add' button to create the redirect

10)  A message will appear, click on the 'Go Back' button

11)  The redirect is now created and should be under the Current Redirects section
